MatrixX Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026 (updated October 5, 2026: update checks, contact form)
MatrixX ("we", "us") makes the MatrixX app and runs MatrixX Cloud. This policy explains what data MatrixX and MatrixX Cloud handle, why, and your choices. Contact: martixx.support@gmail.com.
1. What stays on your PC
MatrixX runs on your computer. Your chats, files, memories, saved skills, logs and settings are stored on your PC (in your user folder) and are not sent to us. Speech recognition for voice commands runs on your PC.
2. What goes to MatrixX Cloud (only if you use it)
- Account: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never see or store the password itself).
- Subscription: your plan, its status and renewal date. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we don't receive or store your card details.
- Credit usage: for each AI request or hosted tool: the time, which model or tool, and its cost, so we can deduct credits and show your credit history.
- Your requests: when MatrixX uses MatrixX Cloud, the text, pictures or files in that request pass through our server to the AI provider that answers it, and the answer comes back to you. Our server doesn't store the content of your requests or answers; it keeps only the usage record above.
- Update checks: when the app starts, it asks MatrixX Cloud whether a newer version is out. To count how many computers use MatrixX each day, we keep a scrambled one-way code made from your connection's address and the date (never the address itself) for 90 days.
- Contact form: if you write to us through the website, we keep your email address and message so we can answer you.
- Waitlists: if you join a waitlist on our website (for example for the Mac version), we keep your email address only to tell you when that version is ready. Ask us to remove it at any time.
3. Who we share data with
Only what's needed to provide the service, with:
- AI model, image, video and web-search providers that process your requests;
- our payment provider, for subscriptions;
- our hosting provider, which runs MatrixX Cloud;
- authorities, if the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal data.
4. Why we use your data
To provide MatrixX Cloud and your plan, handle payments and credits, keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and answer your support requests. Where the law asks for a legal basis (for example in the EU or UK), ours are performing our contract with you and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
5. How long we keep it
Account and subscription data: while your account is open, and afterwards as long as tax and accounting laws require. Credit usage records: 24 months. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing martixx.support@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example the UAE, the EU or the UK), you may also be able to complain to your data protection authority.
7. Security
Passwords and sign-in tokens are stored as one-way hashes, connections are encrypted, and each account's access is limited to its own data. API keys you add to the app stay in a file on your PC and are never written to logs.
8. Children
MatrixX isn't meant for children under 16. If you think a child gave us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes
We'll post changes to this policy here and tell you in the app or by email about important ones.
